Summer Dresses

It's really hard for me to find a short dress that works for my body shape. I'm six feet tall and round through the hips, which means that most dresses are too short and the proportions are off. But instead of mourning my inability to wear something breezy and stylish, I think I'll just make my own. I've got a sewing machine and there is no reason I shouldn't at least give it a try. Here are some styles I want to model my patterns after.

All of these can by found HERE.

Let us know how they turn out. There are a few there I covet myself! Sadly, my sewing skills begin and end with mending and slight edits.

Those are really cute! I"m just over 5'9" and most dress proportions are off for me too. Regular patterns are made for average American height and go up to maybe 5'6" or 5'7" at most. I have not got the skills to alter patterns but them if I'm honest I haven't really got the patience with sewing anyhow. Can't wait to see what you make!
