1 Room, 2 Ways at Amber Interiors

Today, I'm excited to be featured over at Amber Interiors for her 1 Room, 2 Ways series.  Check it out HERE and let me know which look you like best!

Sneak peek:

Room by Isabel Lopez Quesada

I love this room design by Isabel Lopez Quesada.  I've had it in my inspiration file for a while now and I keep going back to it.  As I look at it, I realize that this room is totally different from anything I have in my home.  The white walls, the beautiful light, the tile floors, the mix of modern, rustic and traditional pieces - all of it speaks to me. We always want what we don't have, eh?

Here are some more photos from the same home:

Sarah Saw Something

Time for another weekly installment of Sarah Saw Something, where I share little bits and bobs that I found interesting in the blogosphere this week. Enjoy!

Got 42 million dollars?  You could buy Jennifer Aniston's home in Beverly Hills.

My latest collection of Etsy finds - can you tell that I miss Scotland?

Dude, give back your crown.  I'm sure you've heard by now that Monsieur Galliano was fired this week from his £4 million-a-year post at Dior's creative helm, following three separate racist outbursts in a Paris bar, La Perle.  Very interesting Op-Ed in the NY Times.  Click HERE to read.

The yummy new issue of Lonny has gone live!

And this is the most wonderfully wrapped gift I've ever seen.  Found it at Sketch 42.

Have a beautiful weekend and I'll see you back here on Monday!

Coffee Date in Poland

I just found these images over at annekata, a wonderful homespun blog about stitching, sewing, crafting, coffee and other wonders.  This is a coffee house in Sopot, Poland called Jozef K.  This place is amazing.  I really want to see the rest of it.  I'll just have to go there and order a cup of coffee and explain to the barista that I traveled almost 6,000 miles to have a cup of joe and sit on their old couches.

And please keep Japan in your thoughts today... this tsunami hit their coast last night.

Emerald and Blue

I think the most serene and oceanic color pairing I see these days is emerald green and blue - any shade of blue seems to work.  Sometimes the colors are really obvious and provide the base for a room, but other times, its merely a whisper of green and blue.  These colors look good on everyone and therefore, around everyone.  I would love to find a green velvet sofa like the one pictured last.  Has anyone seen something like this around?

Pretty Underthings

I'm an actor, which means I've spent a lot of time in corsets, girdles and all sorts of odd underthings from the past.  Yes - they're uncomfortable.  Yes - they serve and promote an unattainable beauty myth.  But you know what?  I love them.  Below are some beautiful vintage pieces for sale on Etsy. You might want to give it a whirl.

Buy it HERE.

Dear Golden vintage clothing is a great place to find pretty underthings of yore.
Here are just a few pieces from their collection.

If you like the look, but would rather not wear old corsets and underpinnings,
you can make it into a creative wall hanging:

Boho Loveseat

These little boho loveseats have just enough room for two. Perfect for sharing a cup of coffee, a clove cigarette, iPod ear buds and kisses.  (Smoking inside? Ew.)
