Fabric Necklace

I have lots of little scraps and bits of fabulous fabric lying around. And while I'd love to make an intricate quilt pieced with tiny little pieces, I just don't have the patience or skill. Jewelry made from fabric may be the perfect solution. I found an Amy Butler pattern, but I may also strike out on my own and improv some styles.

Here are some photos for inspiration.

Bitchin' Kitchen

I just baked some scones. This is a rare occurrence in our home, but I think it might be more frequent if I were baking in one of the kitchens below.

Don't Be Afraid

This is my design mantra. Well, its just my mantra. For everything. Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid of color, of silly, of pain, of success, of loss, of bold moves, of kissing in public, of chintz, of black toe nail polish, of motherhood. Just don't be afraid. Instead, be abundant.
Always say "yes".

Stand and Deliver

Cake stands aren't just for cake. Use them to display toiletries, fruit, soap, business cards, flowers, books and whatever else you want to pile on a pedestal.

Okay, okay... you can use them for cake too.

The Drawings of Frank Lloyd Wright

I just finished watching Ken Burn's documentary about Frank Lloyd Wright. I'm obsessed with his drawings. How can a man, whose life was pure chaos, tragedy and self imposed torture create such serene, spiritual spaces?

Prayer Flags

My husband and I have always had a string of prayer flags tacked up somewhere in our home or garden. We love them so much that we decided to decorate with prayer flags for our wedding. I would love to someday have a prayer flag pole in my back yard or garden, but since I am apartment bound, I can only host small strings here and there. The following three photos are from my wedding.
Photos are by Jose Villa.
