This Week In the Studio

My most recent commission was for a wonderful couple in Phoenix, Arizona. Every year in conjunction with the holiday season they host a Fezziwig-themed ball and charity auction in support of New Pathways for Youth. This year they're auctioning a specially commissioned piece (created by me) made specifically for this event! I'm so thrilled to participate. The couple asked for something warm and inclusive with warm golden and red colors. They wanted the art to match the spirit of giving embodied by the Fezziwig characters in Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol".  I made a little inspiration collage and then set to work. Below is the collage I created for the client.

And here is the completed piece:

I hope it reminds you to also "Honor Christmas in your heart and try to keep it all the year."

I love that quotation and your picture has a lovely warmth to it. I found myself getting uncharacteristically excited about Christmas this year as I read your posting... I think it may be the fact it has been a really hard year and I want to do what I can so it ends well... Really enjoy your blogs and wishing you a wonderful Christmas with your house of boys!...Rose in Australia

Thank you Rose! So great to hear from you - thank you for your comment. I'm sorry to hear that you've had a tough year. Perhaps you're right, drawing hearthside and celebrating the joy of giving might be just the thing that finishes the year off on a high note. xo
