Handicrafts and Compassion

Last week, in anticipation of our current giveaway, I purchased this beautiful Chieftain necklace from One Man's Trash.  I love it so much that I might never take it off.  And it stood up to the baby test: a very technical quality control measure wherein my two year old grabs it and tries to yank it off.

I've been back in the studio this week working on a commission (sneak peek below). It's the perfect thing to be doing to get me out of my funk. Today as I paint, I'm reminded to be compassionate with myself. Making space for hick-ups, bumps and meltdowns is so important. I'm also reminded to be compassionate with others who may judge me. The only thing that matters is that each of us are doing the best we can with what we've been given.
