French Sailor Shirt

Based on the keen
fashion sense of others....

Like this cute street singer in Paris...

This smoking French sailor...

The contemplative, milk-drunk James Dean...

The brilliant Pablo Picasso...

This random couple kissing in front of their dog...

This sweet, sad-eyed Gallic fisherman...

The ever fashionable Coco Chanel...

The Audry-Hepburn-ish Audrey Tatou playing the role of Coco Chanel...

The super duper cute model, Jean Seberg...

And a young Marlon Brando...

... I decided to buy this shirt. It was difficult to find one that I liked in a plus size,
but good old LL Bean came through for me. I can't wait for it to arrive in my mailbox.
And because I'm a mother of two, who wears the same outfit for 6 days in a row,
it may end up being my summer uniform. I'll pair it with a pair of draw string,
wide legged linen pants and call it good.

P.S.  Tomorrow, La Maison Boheme is hosting an awesome giveaway, so be sure to check back here!  I'll give you a hint.  It involves YOU spending a lot of money on furniture.  See you tomorrow!

I've been eyeing these...you and these glamourous wearers might have just pushed me over the edge into purchasing one!
If you love it and it becomes your 'uniform' ...I say get a couple more, I seem to always wear my 'uniforms' out to quickly...and then I wish I had gotten a few more!

You are so right, J - if I love it, I'm going to immediately order another.

Purchased my own JCrew sequined fisherman shirt, but am now coveting that LL Bean classic version.

Also, for some reason the image of Picasso really struck a cord with me, always so amazing to see the person behind the brilliant work.

PS I just got my first LL Bean classic tote, monogrammed, and I am OBSESSED. Highly recommended. My perfect weekend bag.

Love, love, love. All the pictures are so awesome and can you really go wrong with that classic shirt? I'm pretty sure that is on Nina Garcia's 100 (c:

You forgot to say Thanks to every young woman in Buenos Aires too :)
It was a big hit down here this summer. Black and white. red and white. blue and white. My favorite is the beige and white ..

Love!
And the LL Bean one is probably a lot less expensive than the one from petit bateau.

Great photos of a classic piece that should be in every wardrobe. But mon dieu! Not included here is Meg Ryan's Coco-esque sailor shirt in French Kiss.

Anon! You are right... I forgot about the adorable Meg in that sweet movie. Could I please have her haircut to match the shirt?
