Arts and Literature

The other day I was sitting in my cozy living room surrounded by big art and comfy cushy places to rest and snuggle when I realized that something was missing. Books. I had no books in my living room. So I immediately ran into my office, where I house most of my books, and dragged out a few good titles with attractive covers to "dress" my living room. Ah, that's better.

YES! and love that first image. I have a relatively small den but one wall is lined with built-in bookcases full of books. I am always so apologetic about it's size but everyone says it's their favorite room.....(I think it's the books..)

great post!

I've always wanted a wall of bookcases(and the ladder to go with it!). Great pictures!

Visit "A Well-Layered Room" post at A Bloomsbury Life (you may have already done that) for a wonderful appraisal of what every room really needs.

I love to read and enjoy seeing walls of books.

Agree, all rooms need books. Cookbooks for the kitchen, art & design books for the living room, fun trivia, art, crafts and kids books for the family room.. I LOVE books!

I have for the last year even kept the 'Encyclopedia of Bad Taste' in our guest bath - something that has inspired giggles from behind that door and many happy guests.

Lovely pictures.

Any room in my house would feel naked without them!
