Damasked Dining Room for Abbie

Abbie - blogger and wonder-woman from The Green Wife - wants to do her formal dining room with damask wallpaper! I say "YES YES YES" all the way. Here are my thoughts: Go big with the paper print and color. Make it something you absolutely love and then keep the furnishings simple and elegant. Also remember that just because you have a Baroque style wallpaper doesn't mean you have to stick to a certain type of furnishing. Mix it up. Damask prints are for every era and style: Victorian, Modern, Shabby Chic, Rustic, Southern, Coastal, you name it.

If you're not ready to go balls to the walls Damask,
try it out with upholstery or table coverings.

And just for fun, because I think the yellow and brown combo are sorely ignored:

The following papers are from my favorite online wallpaper source, Wallpaper From the 70's. There are so many to choose from and they ship very quickly. Enjoy browsing, Abbie!

These are amazing, really inspires me to put up wallpaper!! The colors are awesome, do you think you would have to tone the rest of the room down to balance out the walls?

I love wall paper but it freaks out my husband. The house I grew up in was wallpapered in many places. To my husband wallpaper seems dated. I say everything gets dated so if you love it, do it.

Emily, personally - if it were in my own home - I would probably tone down the rest of the room and let the wallpaper be center stage. But it depends totally on your personality and the style of your home and furniture.

These are fabulous! Thank you for posting so many beautiful options to inspire me. I'm, of course, drawn toward the greens, but I'll browse and share pictures with my husband. I think this would be the perfect transformation for our dining room.

Love your site! Thank you again!
