Hello dear readers! Have you been following my radical homemaking efforts here on the blog over the past year, wondering what it's all about? Have you thought about how you might make small changes in your own home towards greater sustainability, green living and financial freedom? Today, I'm announcing a little giveaway to get you started: three books by author and homesteader, Shannon Hayes!
Shannon Hayes, author of the popular manifesto Radical Homemakers, has a wonderful new book called Homespun Mom Comes Unraveled, which is comprised of 29 essays taken from her weekly blog posts. These two books, along with Shannon's inspiring cook book, Long Way on a Little, will go to one lucky La Maison Boheme reader. This is your chance to start your very own radical homemaking library!

I just dumped out my stockpile of seeds last night to plan for this year's and next year's gardens. We're overhauling half of the yard to dedicate to raising chickens and food! These books would be a welcome addition to our library! I'm adding them to my amazon wishlist!
I also shared this link on face book! ;)
These books look great! Thanks for doing the giveaway. :)
Wow, I had never seen Shannon's books or blog. These look awesome!

I'm so curious about this authors work. Thank you for introducing me, Sarah! Even if I don't win, I'll definitely be doing further research.

Shared on FB! :D
These look great! Hope I get to read them :)
Throwing my hat in!! I want want want! It will pair up perfectly with my "read more, watch less tv" resolution. On that note, enter me again because I'm going to share this giveaway on my facebook business page. Ironically my second resolution is use facebook less. I am a woman of many contradictions. Happy New Year!
Shannon Hayes is a guiding light isn't she?
I have a funny story about where her term "radical homemaker" led me. I was contacted by a regional newspaper for an article about radical homemakers. Apparently they decided I was enough of one to write about. Since I have books to promote, I took a deep breath and agreed to the interview. (Here's what that was like: http://lauragraceweldon.com/2010/06/28/me-a-radical-homemaker/
But this isn't the funny story. Ladies Home Journal must have run across the local article. They contacted me to be one of several women they were interviewing. Despite my claims to happy hermit-hood, again I agreed in hopes of selling some books. One the hottest day of the year my family patiently posed for hours in our hayfield, for two hours. None of those photos were used. Worse, the article was titled "Radical Housewives." Yeah. I'm not agreeing to any more interviews....
I've really got to learn to proofread comments...
So curious!
It's a new year - I have new resolutions! It's time for change and some books to assist would be awesome!
These sound like just what I need!

Thanks for the opportunity!
What a fantastic reading list!
So happy I found your blog. Radical homemaking speaks to me. Sharing on my Facebook page (Good.Juju.from.ceccilia) and my Twitter account (Good _Juju_Land). 😃
Love your past blogs on radical homemaking-now I need to learn more about it. I have a small garden @ year with a mix of vegetables, flowers and herbs.
These books look amazing and just what I need to jumpstart my little wannabe suburban homestead!
I'm very interested in this. From growing up in the country on a medium sized farm to now living in the city, I want to "get back". I miss so many things, almost everything really. I'd love to give these books a read.
