Back Patio Demolition

Today, some lovely gentlemen are busting their asses on my back patio. They are sledge hammering all of the cracked brick and broken tiles and hauling it away. Tomorrow another group of lovely men will frame and set the new patio and on Friday we pour the concrete slab!  I'm so thrilled.

Up until now, my back patio has been a death trap. My kindergartener has hooked his toes on shards of tile and my three-year-old, who at any given time is either in a wheelchair or in a walker, cannot even go back there. Time for something new. We're removing the stupid little wall, laying a new patio and also creating a four-foot-wide, wheelchair accesible sidewalk that goes out the back fence to our carport. Yay!
