Yesterday, my 5-year-old son and I sat at the kitchen table and cracked open our first pomegranate of the season. He had never heard the Persephone myth, so I did a little story telling while we pried the seeds free and into a bowl. He was totally into it. So was I.
Today in Dallas, as if on cue, Demeter's mood turned gloomy. The Texas heat gave way and the morning is cool and breezy and the rain clouds have passed through leaving the earth damp and soft. Autumn is here. The pomegranates are in season. And I am happy. It's my favorite time of the year.

Autumn arrival must feel great. Thanks for the link to the Persephone myth. It's a between worlds kind of time now!
That first pomegranate pic looks like an art print! So pretty.
