Lake Wallowa and The Bronze Antler

I love my kids, but sometimes I simply need to disappear for a moment and catch my breath. So this Wednesday my husband and I left our sons with my mom and ran away for the night to Joseph, Oregon. Joseph is an artsy little town near Wallowa Lake, a gorgeous natural lake formed by two glacial moraines. It's an astonishing place.

After spending some time at the lake, we enjoyed browsing art galleries, boutique shops and antique stalls in town. We ate a great meal, mostly comprised of comfort food and beer, at the Embers Brew Pub, then stayed the night at The Bronze Antler, a beautiful bed and breakfast in a 1925 Craftsman home located on the main street. I highly recommend it! Here are some snap shots of our room and the exterior of the Bronze Antler:

I was pleased to see that they had a piece of Roseville Pottery on the mantel. My great grandfather worked for Roseville Pottery in Zanesville, Ohio for a while. This piece is part of the Zephyr Lily pattern.
