This Week in the Studio | Watercolor Experiment

I've never worked with watercolor and usually opt for acrylic paints.  But last night, I did some experimenting and added a little water to my acrylics. At first I found the paint very difficult to control, but in the end, I really enjoyed the process.  Do any of you paint in watercolor?  I'd love to hear your favorite watercolor tips!

"Bloodstone" - original watercolor on paper - 11" X 15"

"Olives" - original watercolor on paper - 11" X 15"

"Cypress" - original watercolor on paper - 11" X 15"

"Lanterns" - original watercolor on paper - 11" X 15"

I don't think you need any tips - your paintings are lovely!
I've been doing some painting too. I was thrilled to see the painting I gave my mom in a frame. (I posted on it the other day.)

"lanterns" is my favorite in this series!!!

Sarah- The quality you achieved is really neat on the paper - like a dense gouche. (I don't know if I spelled that right - it's the paint what we used in architecture school...)

I love that you relinquished control in order to make something beautiful. The results are wonderful!
