My latest HOUZZ tour!

My latest article for Houzz.com published this morning!  I had such fun photographing this beautifully remodeled 1950s home. The home owners are very inspired by the Arts & Crafts movement and I love the way they've combined it with the modern feel of their Midcentury home.  Check out the full story HERE.

The art on the wall below is by Oklahoma artist, Kate Rivers.
I posted about her nest collages a few days ago, HERE.

Arts and Crafts? Where?

Not seeing it, with the possible single exception of the leaded glass table lamp. Nor is any specific example of it mentioned in the article.

Hello dear anonymous reader...

Thank you for your comment. The home is inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement - it is obviously not an arts and crafts home itself. The dining set and side board, some of the rugs, the leather chair in the living room, the chairs in the dining nook and yes, the stain glass lamp - all have an arts and crafts feel. (Hence the title of the piece "Arts and Crafts Inspires a Midcentury Home".) I usually don't do a lot of historical context in my articles, but rather provide a link to more info for those who are interested as I did in this article. I hope that you enjoyed the home despite your disappointment about the lack of actual Arts & Crafts architecture. Warmly, Sarah Greenman
