Today I attended a house tour in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas, Texas. It was a fund raiser for a local organization. One of the homes on the tour belongs to Matt and Mary Emma Hawthorne.
Matt is a photographer and
Mary Emma is a collage artist. Together, they designed their home and hired Scott Powell from
New Leaf Construction to oversee their Mid Century remodel. This was my favorite home on the tour. The Hawthornes' home provides a beautiful uninterrupted back drop to showcase their amazing art collection. Their aesthetic is modern yet homey - they know who they are and how to express their essence. The home is clean, restrained, filled with history, abundant in art and sculpture, and very comfortable. Take a look and try to ignore my awesome cell phone photography.

I also fell in love with Mary Emma's collage art.
It was beautifully displayed all over the house. Some of my favorite pieces are below,
but you can see more of her work

Love the collages, going to check out the rest of them..
Do you know of this home has ever been photographed for a local ( or otherwise) magazine? If not, it would make an interesting article. Thank you for your story!
I don't know if the Hawthorne home has been in home decor publications. It is the PERFECT home for a spread. You can contact Mary Emma directly through her website if there is interest.
