Gold Fixtures in the Dining Room

The title of this post says it all.  I love look of gold and brass lighting fixtures in the dining room spaces below.  Even a simple gold candelabra takes the elegance factor up a a couple of notches.  I think my favorite is the marvelous curly-cue piece directly below hung above the side board.

I have never been a fan of polished brass, though I do like it when it is aged. I have an antique oak dresser with ornate brass handles which I dislike. Perhaps this would be a good time to sell them. :-)

If I actually get this message through, I just want to tell you I have huge difficulties leaving comments here-always get error messages-but I read all of your posts. I love your blog.

Shawna - many of my usual readers have stopped leaving comments and I wondered if it might be because of the error messages when leaving the security code. I'll have to change that. Thank you so much for reading!

I think gold, bronze, and brass (aged) have been steadily making a comeback, these finishes are so warm, timeless, and beautiful.
Love the first and fourth images...
