Feathers

I've been enjoying the resurgence of the "feather as jewelry" trend that I've been seeing lately.  My mother used to wear feathers in the early 70's.  She once gave me a old pair of peacock earrings when I was thirteen years old.  I vowed to love them forever and then lost them before I graduated high school.  Where are all the wonderful things my mother gave me in my teens?  Maybe they'll turn up someday.

I love them, too. I wore all sorts of feathers back in the day, although now mine are mostly metal re-interpretations! My daughters have jumped on this train, with kaleidoscope feathers in their hair. Loving those stud/feather earrings!

J'adore feathers and often use them in my etching. They create such beautiful marks. And I so love your images throughout your blog...so inspirational. Merci beaucoup.

I love your blog and this one reminded me not only of wearing feathers in the 70's ; ), but also of one of my daughter's blog enteries. She is in Wharariki, New Zealand at the moment where there are apparently lots of peacocks wandering around and on 1.12.12 she posted a pic of a peacock feather and wrote:

"yes, to me that's your bird."
"am i loud and obnoxious in the morning?"
"nah, when you're drunk.... and you're soooooo pretty."
"aw thanks buddy."
"you're always leaving pieces of yourself everywhere, and you can't exactly fly... but you get around."
