Amanda Stone Talley

Today I want to share the beautiful work of painter Amanda Stone Talley.  Amanda recently introduced herself to me, via this blog, and I have instantly fallen in love with her work.  Graphic, undulating, natural shapes, playfulness - what's not to love? The pieces below are from her website.

Amanda is also a textile designer!

Here is a sample of one of her fabrics:

So, does her work remind you of anything?
Ah yes - my entry wall!

I don't know if I ever saw Amanda's work before now, but I may have.

Oh wait... I know I've seen the photo below somewhere in the wilds of blog land.

Obviously it made an impression.  Not only on me, but also on Jamie Meares, whose beautiful wall at Furbish inspired me to paint my entry.  The magical thing about Amanda's paintings is that they work on you over time, embedding itself into your subconscious.  The pattern speaks to you, but you can't remember where you saw it or what it was.  Thank you, Amanda, for the introduction.  Your work is so lovely.  I hope you don't mind a little emulation.  It's high praise, I promise.
