Women of Bohemia

For some reason, as I've aged and added two babies to my wardrobe, I've stopped wearing the boho-inspired clothing that, for quite some time, I was known for.  It used to be that every day I was wearing some kind of beautiful long dress or tiered skirt or embroidered tunic.  I wore vintage scarfs in fifty different ways, jingley jewelry on my arms and a rotating assortment of boots.  While my home is a great reflection of my personality, I don't feel that my clothing fully represents me anymore.  Don't get me wrong - I love a pair of linen pants and a t shirt from J.Jill.  But maybe I should start pulling out my old batik wrap skirts every once in a while for good measure.  I'm sure that the pattern would hide baby spit-up really well.

These are all gorgeous- the one in the white dress is stunning. And I know what you mean- my clothes got very milk toasty after I had my kids- trying to get my old self back now that they're not babies anymmore:)

When I was in my 3o's I saw an older woman in a restaurant. She had long grey hair pulled back, and was dressed in boho style. I was awestruck by her style and beauty, and swore to myself that I would also be that stylish in my mature years. Now at 60, I too am dressing in a manner that is boring most of the time. Thanks for the reminder. I'm off to dig through the boxes of stuff I packed away.

Absolutely, go back to this style. Today it's happening again anyway.
The long look is just so chic and so cool. Love you....

Yes, to thine own self be true!

Boho all the way! (The name of your blog says it all!)

Oh yes, you should SO drag out the boho clothes that once spoke to you. Actually, I could have written this post. I used to dress the same way but got to where I really relied on the outfits paired up in the j.jill catalogue. It isn't me; I love their stuff but they aren't ME. So, I dragged my birkenstocks back out and try these days to dress more for who I know myself to be and who I want the world to know too.

It is so important.

Love this post. :)
