Peonies in my Mother's Garden

My Mama just sent me these beautiful photos of the Peonies growing in her garden.  This is their first year in the ground and already they are rewarding her with big fresh undulating blooms.  So beautiful.

Next month, I'll be traveling to my Mama's farm in Eastern Oregon for a long visit.  My plan is to take some beautiful photos of her home, inside and out.  I think you will love her mix of country charm, gypsy soul and Boho eclecticism.  So stay tuned!

1- One of the things I miss most about Oregon, the beauty of the gardens, the Greenness !!

2- I love Peonies and miss seeing them .. I don't know if they even have them here.

3- Does your mom have ants on her peonies?

*beautiful*

(the ants on the peonies are good -- they eat the leaves that tightly bind the blooms; they help the blossom come out! Isn't nature perfect?)

I was worried about the ants on my peonies until my friend Karen told me, they help 'crack open the bud'. Yes Mother Nature is amazing.
Thanks for sharing my pretties Sarah.

Sarah my Mother has grown the most beautiful peonies from the time I was a little girl. They are so beautiful!

We always shook the ants off before bringing them in the house!
