Iron Beds

I was at a thrift store the other day in Cedar City, Utah.  (I'm still in Utah, while my husband works at the Utah Shakespeare Festival.)  I saw this crumpled up iron bed in the far corner with some beautiful details and a lot of wonderful wear and tear.  It was 5 bucks.  I wish, I wish, I wish that I was not traveling with a car full of luggage or that I had a way of transporting this special little antique wonder home to Dallas.  Ah, well... I'll just dream about it here instead.

I bought one when I was single years ago from a vintage market and absolutely loved it- still have it in our guest room downstairs and don't think we'll every part- they're so charming!

When I moved into my own home, the first thing I purchased was a Charled P. Rogers iron bed. And I love it to this day!

Wish I'd been there when you saw it. I would have hauled it up here for the farm. Bummer! Love all the photos.

How beautiful! You should buy it anyways and shove it in that car somewhere! I'd hate for you to regret not buying it!

We bought one at a flea market when Tess was a baby. We thought we scored.
I think we paid $45. Then we had to have it sandblasted and painted (maybe $125 back in the day?) but here's the kicker...it was a european 3/4 bed. Not a Twin and not a Full. We had never heard of such a thing. We had to have the boxspring and mattress custom made...I think about $750. And there are no sheets that fit it properly. It's beautiful, BUT...
