Illumination: David Trubridge

I love these hanging lanterns designed by David Trubridge.  David has created a flat-pack design that unfolds into a set of hanging lamps that range in size from one to eight feet high. The lamp is based upon the design concept of “minimum volume for maximum effect.” This allows for product to be freighted as a kit set that would allow for easy portability and easy assembly at any destination.  Sustainability has always been at the center of David’s practice, and he says “We are continually doing all we can to reduce our environmental footprint. Reducing the volume of our freight has the most impact and is the best thing we can do…”  Environmentally sound and totally gorgeous.  Sounds right up my alley!

I have a always been a huge fan of hanging lanterns. And in this age of trucking product all over the globe, collapsible portability of larger items for the home is a fairly significant consideration. I'm actually going to look into these.

Hmmmm. Price tag is a bit out of my reach. Thanks for the post, nevertheless. Have a beautiful day.

PS Good luck on your weight loss. What is your plan?

@Suze - yeah, I'm with you... they're a little pricey.

@Fabiana - Thanks! I'm going to be posting about the plan more in the coming weeks. But the basic plan is to burn more than I take in. I am going to be doing cardio for 30 minutes every morning for the first month and do some food switch-a-roos. Then, I'll reassess at the end of the month and make some more changes. Thanks for your support and encouragement!

I absolutely love these, they are quite beautiful. I wonder if I'd be able to make a poor man's version of them using card......
