The Piano

Do you live with a piano?  I do.  Although I don't play it everyday, she has a real presence in our home.  She's always calling out for a little face time and reminds me that when I'm ready, I can always sit down at her bench for a chat with the keys.

I used to have a piano in the living room, I never wanted to play it. Now that I don't have one, I miss it and wish I could take lessons again.
Someday :)

Love! Hani is giving us her piano (she's getting the one she grew up with from her mom's house) and we are so excited!! Haley's been taken lessons this year and Eli can't wait to start. I grew up with my dad's family almost all playing piano and singing old Southern hymns on Sundays. <3 I love having lots of instruments around for my kids to play with.

How lovely,

There was always a piano in our homes growing up.
It was a wonderful way to amuse myself and concentrate and focus or alternately, escape into another world as a child.
I don't have a piano in our home now but I often miss it and wish I did, so that my son could experience a little of that spontaneous joy.
Cheers, Alcira

We have one it the playroom and I love it- the kids often spontaneously play and I agree, they give a space/home a real feeling of warmth. That photo with the grasscloth/yellow chairs is amazing.

I love your image, and all the others! I want a piano, I would just LOVE a baby grand (maybe I'm dreaming a bit much there) when we are able to move out of our teeny-tiny place and into a bigger home.

That reminds me of the piano I grew up playing. The other photos are beautiful, but there's something comforting and beautiful about that last photo.

I'm so happy to see this post. I have a piano, but it is at my mom's house until I have enough room for it. I was recently considering having it painted. The grey piano in your photo was beautiful. I'm feeling inspired!
