Side Table

Please stop buying side tables from Target and IKEA... and Pottery Barn too, while we're at it.  The thrift and consignment stores of America are filled with side tables and side table possibilities.  Just keep your mind open about what might serve as a jaunty side table.  A stack of books?  And old children's desk?  A collection of suitcases?  The possibilities are endless!

Thank you for this post! There are so many possibilities out there. I could bring home a new side table everytime I go thrifting if I had the room!

My bedside "table" is an antique French Bombay chest, small, 3 drawers, beautiful, bought at an auction for very little. My husbands side of the bed is a small Asian style table that only has room for a lamp and the remote for the a/c and a photo. I am not crazy about matching furniture.. I much prefer pieces with a history and character.

Amen! So many wonderful possibilities. Isn't shopping a regular retail store a bore? Give me Craig's List, an antique mall or thrift store any day of the week!
