Plank Wood Walls

There is something about the look of plank wood walls that, if done right, can make a home transcend it's place and time.  Be careful, though - when done badly, it can end up looking like a 1970's garage conversion.  I immediately fell in love with this first photo, which I found at My Favorite and My Best.  The rest of the photos were stashed away in my dream file.  How many of you live with plank wood on the walls?  Do you love it or do you long for smooth plaster?

My cottage has an original tongue and groove wooden plank roof and I absolutely adore it- the sound of rain on such a roof is beyond delightful. Love it for a cottage but for my actual home, I don't think I could pull the trigger- a little too rustic for everyday. Gorgeous to look at though:)

We had wood paneling growing up. It was very dark and my mom eventually painted it. My in laws have rustic natural wood planks going vertically in their lakehouse and it's absolutely gorgeous!

I have it like My Grama's Soul commented; on vautled ceilings throughout my house.
