Ikat Cacophony

I'm sure you've seen this photo all over the internet.  Its from a house tour in the January issue of Elle Decor.  I love everything about this house, but the photo below really inspired me.  I love the bold rug, the brash Ikat curtain panels, the gray patterned wallpaper, the miss-matched Ikat throw pillows and the edgy art.  Its a fantastic mix.  I really want this kind of look in my living room.  The thing that most excites me about this look is I think I could pull it off without changing any of my furniture.  Its all walls, floors and curtains. Hmmm....

Here are some beautiful Ikat rug patterns to get me going:

Most of the rugs are from ABC Carpet in NYC.

That room makes me weak in the knees -- I have to agree, it's the gold standard.
I'd say just for more and more ikat -- magnificent rugs too.
Bon weekend, Alcira

Oh the happy hours we used to spend in ABC Carpet and Home. Shopping then eating then more shopping, without ever leaving the building. Heaven :)

So beautiful. I often find myself liking the more traditional style rugs, but this ikat style is very, very, pretty. I do think particularly large palace rugs are also quite graceful as they make the room feel bigger. So pretty, keep up the wonderful work
