Portland, Oregon

I've been dreaming of Portland lately.  I used to live part-time in this amazing city when working as a playwright and actor.  And when I wasn't living there, I'd hop the train down from Seattle, visit friends, and get my groove back.  I love this city.  It was therefore, with great joy and nostalgia that I found these wonderful photos of Portland life by Lauren Nelson over at The Urban Hippie.  Her work is full of rich texture with and eye for beauty in the mundane.  I was immediately entranced.  Enjoy!

I'm still surprised at how small these cities actually are. They seem larger than life I guess. I need to visit the west coast more!

Funny you should say that !
In the amazing and uncomfortable heat wave we are having, here at the bottom of the world, I miss Portland like crazy !
We lived there for almost 2 years and I loved every minute of it. My husband was not as enchanted with the rain but I just found it all to be lovely.
It is a little city, once you know your way around and have been used to much larger cities, but that is part of its charm.
And the friendly people were a treat !
I (heart) Portland too :)
