Stumped

I picked up a wood stump side table a few years back at Z Gallerie. It was sitting on the floor behind the check-out counter. There was a huge split down the middle - I guess it got too dry. They were going to toss it because it was unsellable in that condition, so I made an offer. Its one of my favorite pieces in the house - even with the big split, it looks great no matter where I put it. Just mind that you don't get a splinter.

And this one is mine.

I just love your stump next to your antique chairs! A lot of stuff we make at Aidan gray splits like that and you wouldn't believe the people that complain, we say "that's the whole point!".

love it. we lost a large tree about a year ago and I have always regretted not making one of these from part of it...

(hope the little man is coming along well...)

Thanks for pointing me to this post. I almost titled my post today Stumped but for some reason went with Stumpy. So glad I did. :) I didn't realize PB also sold them! They're even more mainstream than I had thought. Yours is great - it has so much character.
