Nothing But Sky

I want to paint the underside of my back patio a shade of aqua or sky blue. I keep seeing it in magazines and one of my husband's colleagues just painted the underside of his front porch blue. It turned out so nice. I love the look of a blue ceiling - inside or out.

In the South, lots of porch ceilings are painted blue because the color is believed to keep away buggies or evil spirits---they call it haint blue! I personally just LOVE the serene color. :)

Lovely. I like the apartment pic, the short curtains and intense colors. - Jean

Yes, I also saw on a recent HGTV episode that you should paint the porch ceiling blue because bees and other bugs see it as "sky" and don't nest there. I say go for it! I love that look and color!

Every porch ceiling in New Orleans has light blue paint.
Some in the South call it Haint Blue.
Here in NOLA it is the folklore that it wards off evil spirits and bugs.
I have this color on my porch of course.
I think it would be lovely for you to do.
