What is a hippocampus?

According to the Google God in my computer, a hippocampus is a seahorse or a sea dragon. Turns out it is also an area of the brain believed responsible for memory and personality - but for our purposes, a seahorse. Last year, a friend of mine gifted me with a beautiful glass seahorse ornament. I just pulled out my box of Christmas goodies and rediscovered this little treasure. It was hand crafted by San Francisco Bay Area glass artist, Andre Nigoghossian. He is pretty taken with these magical little creatures of the deep as evidenced by his awesome handy work. Aren't they lovely? Instead of hanging them on my Christmas tree I might wear mine around my neck. Want one of your own? Find it here.

Andre also creates a bevy of more traditional, but equally magical ornaments like these icicle-styled drop downs.
