Most people only think of decorating their mantels during holidays, while the rest of the year its simply a dusting hazard. The mantel is like a little family altar where you can stow and showcase meaningful objects that represent the residents of the home. I love a mantel covered with lovely little doodads. And don't be afraid to change it up - its the perfect place for photos, stoneware, candles, statuary, plants, feathers, findings, artwork and more.

And here is a peek at my own mantle.

i love mantle deorating. not just for the holidays. mine just has some branches and hurricanes on it. simple and fresh. although nothing beats a freshly swagged mantle at christmas.
Love it :) Mine is a complete shrine.
