My son is still very much a baby at 18 months, but recently, he is showing signs of readiness for a real bed. No more crib. So we're in the process of switching from his sweet white crib to a twin. This transition is a great excuse to update some of the decor in his room. (But who really needs an excuse?) While looking around for inspiration, I found these great rooms suitable for and designed for kids. Not at all childish, but rather elegant and playful.
I found these odd but charming silhouettes on Flickr. The first one in particular is very interesting to me - the bug with the parasol, the cherub, the mushroom. Very Alice in Wonderland. They're German - turn of the last century.
Again, probably old news to you... but I've just discovered chalk board paint! What a fantabulous idea. I love the write-on qualities, of course, but I also would consider it as color for a bedroom or dining room. The dusky black quality is really nice on large scale.
Remember this from a previous post? The walls are done in chalk board paint. Gorgeous!
La Maison Boheme has another mention at The Paris Apartment. I'm doing a little happy dance right now. What an honor! ...and here are a few little inspiring French vignettes to celebrate the occasion.
I was visiting an online forum a few days ago and read a post about wreaths. The question was about adorning your home with wreaths all year around. Wreaths bring a wonderful celebratory and welcoming feel to a home. Below are wreaths for all seasons, some traditional (twigs, herbs, branches) and some more unorthodox (paper, fabric, even a recycled sweater). Enjoy!
