Enter

I don't have a foyer, or a staircase, or even a spot to sit and take off my shoes. But this doesn't mean I can't dream about it.

Doing the Dishes

Modish Vintage on Etsy. For all of your 70's dishware needs. I particularly like the little pitchers. Good for cream, yes, but also holding ink pens, paint brushes, business cards and all the extra bits of IKEA hardware that you're sure you'll need to re-use someday.

Gwen Frostic

Last summer, while visiting my mother in Eastern Oregon, I stopped at a garage sale and purchased five poetry books. Honestly, I bought them because they were filled with amazing wood block prints depicting nature scenes. I just pulled them out again. I'm thinking of framing the prints. The poet and artist is Gwen Frostic. She can be easily found through a Google search. Her work is so lovely.

Summer Quilts

Look at these beautiful creations. I want to make one! If I start one now, I could have it done by February of 2011.

Found this fabulous summer quilt at Daria's Photostream on Flickr. She fashioned it out of garage curtains. So perfect for tossing out under a tree or lakeside.

Black Monday

Painting the walls black goes against every thing I've ever been taught about how to paint interiors. My bones kind of ache at the thought of it. But look how beautiful it can be! You gotta have balls, though. Big balls. Oh, and a room with structure. None of this 1994 dry wall crap. The room has to have good bones.

Stealing Beauty

I'm stealing from a great blog that I frequent called The Paris Apartment, which recently showcased these gorgeous mixed media prints by Jennifer Gordon. She sells them on her Etsy site, Stiletto Heights. These bohemian beauties of yore make me to get my hands on some kohl eye liner and absinthe. Anyone want to join me?

Cool Blue for a Hot Day

Dallas is warm. I mean super warm. I need some cool color to offset the heat. I'm talking about the kind of color that feels like water. The kind of blue that makes me feel a breeze on my brow.
