Desk Detail
I'm a big fan of the "messy desk". I think it inspires creative thought and site-specific recklessness. This is my cluttered desk. I do lots of lovely work here. My favorite desk "friends" are my golden luck pig and a jar of army guys. Although I appreciate its cluttered quality, I'm on the lookout for better ways of organizing my stuff. The crafty bits and the writing bits are always hopelessly jumbled together. Let's see what I can come up with.

Add Some Plaid
Plaids are usually an autumn indulgence, but these plaids are perfect for primavera!

Roseville Pottery
My great-grandfather once worked at the Roseville Pottery Plant in Zanesville, Ohio. Because of this, our family has an extensive collection of Roseville pieces. There is something graceful about this pottery. The shapes are organic and the floral patterns are impressionistic. This pottery is certainly "of an era" and reminds me of my grandmother, who was responsible for keeping the collection together. The pieces below were found on auction sites. Aren't they lovely?

Beat the Heat
It was a warm night last night here in Dallas. I can feel the warm air of summer moving in, replacing spring's lovely breeze. I don't know about you, but I despise the look of ceiling fans. They are all over my apartment. Unfortunately, I can't sleep without one. I think an vintage electrical fan is a much more appealing option!
