BEFORE: Clean and organized, but a little utilitarian for my taste. And the previous owner's sunshine yellow color choice, while certainly nice, was not my thing.
AFTER: The new color is Moroccan Henna from Behr Paints. The curtains are the Suzani Print from World Market (my big splurge) and the new furniture is Craig's List.
BEFORE: The office was doubling as a nap station for the little girl I take care of during the day. I've relocated the crib to my master bedroom in preparation for our baby boy, due in July.
AFTER: Check out the groovy 70's pendant lamp left here by the previous owners. It's so ugly/wonderful that I had to use it.

is that your harp? do you play? will this be your first child? sorry, these questions pop up after seeing your space...
thanks for the look!
Yeah, I love the pendant light too! Yes, the harp is mine. I play the piano too. We're music people. And this will be baby number two. I already have a 2 and a half year old son. xo
I love it! It looks fantastic!!!
wonderful...I know your little man is excited about the little brother...!
I think that I want you to come do my bedroom very similarly! Also...where did you get the curtains? LOVE.
Abbie, the curtains are the Suzani print from Cost Plus World Market. There is a link to them in my post and will take you right to the the World Market website.
Oh. my. goodness Sarah!!! That is awesome. Enjoy your lovely space :)
lovely!!!
it's just perfect, really. I love the curtains and the painting, especially.
I also enjoyed your bookcase organization.
The painting is one I did when I was pregnant with my first child. I was kind of into cherry blossoms at the time.
it looks great, sarah!!
i love the pendant lamp -- and your cherry blossom painting is *gorgeous*!!
Ummm. Yeah. Perfect as usual. I love everything you do :-)
it looks great!!! great job mama!!
if there was one thing i would change/add and i think it would make the room even that much better would be to get an awesome desk chair. i know the one you have now is comfy but i think we can all agree it's not very stylish. maybe something with either an industrial edge or something girly and soft. either would add a new element to the room.
what do you think?
Jenny - yes, I totally agree. I'm back on the Craig's List - Consignment store bandwagon looking for a chair. Thanks!
Oh my lovely! I am urning for bookcases as organized as yours. You would shutter if you saw my haphazard piles of books and magazines - I do!
That's splendid. You are justly proud. I like that you moved the two big bookcases together, among other things.
Wow great job sarah! I love the paint color and the fact that you did it on a budget but you wuld never know!
wow. i totally love it. looks gorgeous hunny! the wall color is bliss.
xo
i love the made over office, the bes things are the two cabinets lining the wall of your office, with too much space to keep books and other things, they are the perfect and the most important things for a home
