Please Stay Seated

I don't know about you, but I have a serious thing for chairs and love seats. They're the perfect furniture to lust after because one: they're not as expensive as sofas. Two: if you were to make an impulse buy, you could fit it in your car and take it home right away. And three: when you got it home, you could pop it into a room and it would totally change the feel of that room. Instant gratification! It doesn't get better than that people.

A little trip

I'm off to the Pacific Northwest for a little time away. My usual daily post will be a little spotty for a couple of weeks, but I'll be updating here and there as I find local libraries and coffee shops to log on. Until them, up, up and away I go...

Tray Chic

I have a small thrifted tea tray that I found at a second hand store in Halfway, Oregon last summer. It rotates from my bedside, to the dinner table, to the bathroom counter, to where ever it is needed. I'd love to find a another tray or two to throw into the mix. Here are some that I wouldn't mind stumbling upon:

Afghan Yumminess

It might seem crazy to be longing for a cozy granny square blanket when the Texas heat is beating on my door, but I'm ready for the cooler weather. I love the look of these crocheted Afghans. They're practical, beautiful and filled with patience and love - something we all could use a little more of these days.

Site Specific Pink

I saw this hot pink table in Gemma Ahren's gorgeous home at the ever inspiring Design Sponge. It got me thinking. I'm not ballsy enough to go all pink, plus I think my husband might put the kibosh on a pink room or wall, but I might be able to get away with a well placed pink splash. Um, Sarah, what are you talking about? ....see below.

...or up the stairs?

In the Bag

Remember this from a few days ago? Well, here it is!

Please Make Art

The poster above is framed and on my mantel. I love it. I love the revolutionary look to it and it's grand pronouncement. It also reminds me to, whenever possible, create beauty and art, even on small scale (where most art happens) and to refrain from engaging in everyday negative behaviors and destructive thinking. I'll leave you with my favorite quote: "In a world lacking in truth and certainty and filled with anguish and despair, no woman should be shame-faced for trying to give back to the world, through her work [and art] a portion of its lost heart." - Louise Bogan. Okay, okay, enough philosophical juju - on to the pictures!

On a personal note...

Everyone, this is Jack. He is the awesome-est, loving-est, best husband-man that ever walked the face of Earth. Here he is with our kiddo. A big Happy Father's Day, Baby. Wish we could all be together today.
