Wallpaper in the Bathroom?

I love love love the idea of wallpaper in the bathroom. However, I have clear childhood memories of watching steam-damaged wallpaper peel away from the corners of bathroom walls.  Paper and water usually don't mix, so what's the scoop? Are water damage worries a thing of the past?  Are the new papers steam resistant or something?  Tell me what you know.

Brilliant Bookcases

I'm away from home with my husband on a job right now, and I didn't bring a good book to read. I'm sorely missing my home library. So today, I'll be stopping by a local book store on the hunt for a good quick read. Any suggestions?

Nursery Wall Treatment

I love the color of my son's nursery.  Its a dark Moroccan red/brown.  Henna, really.  But sometimes I just want to paper over it with something bold.  Maybe I should just keep the paint color and paper the ceiling!  Here are some super cute nursery wall and ceiling treatments that I've had my eye on:

Blue Floral Bathroom

I love these large scale floral wallpapers being used in bathrooms!  With bathrooms, you have less space to cover, making it a little more affordable than, say, papering a bedroom.  And the effect is that you're being enveloped in a blue floral wonderland.  In the last photo, you can see that they even papered the ceiling!  So cool.

Ornate Wall Coverings

This week, I'm posting all about ornate patterns, graphic prints, and ethnic textiles.  Lately I've been on a big pattern kick and I can't wait to share some of the textiles I brought home from my recent trip to Mexico.  But first, feast your eyes on these gorgeous wall coverings.  As you can see, I'm a huge fan of the Arts and Crafts movement, chinoiserie and botanical prints.

The Kind of Mood I'm In

I'm in a cozy, reflective mood this morning.  I want to wear something flowy.  Something vintage.  I want to write in my journal and sip coffee surrounded by floral wall paper and worn surroundings.  Who's with me?

Grass Cloth Wallpaper

Remember that Billy Ocean song, Get out of my dreams - get into my car?  When I see grass cloth wall coverings, I think of that song.  Texture, color, comfort, natural beauty and patina - grass cloth wallpaper has all of this to offer and more.  What's not to love?  I dream of one day covering my entire living room or dining room in a gray, green or blue shade of grass cloth.

Dark Walls

I'm always initially intimidated to go dark on my walls.  But then, when I finally do, I love it.  My two favorite rooms in my home are my black/blue dining room and my sable gray bedroom.
