2014 Year In Review

Every year I do a little re-cap of the previous year's completed projects and events. It's a nice way to take stock of the past 12 months and breathe a sigh of contentment (or regret) before pressing on to the year ahead. (If you're interested, you can take a look back at 2013, 2012, 2011and 2010.)  This has been a year of superlatives - the best, the worst, the brightest, the darkest. And while the year was filled with goodness and some wonderful "firsts", this year also brought with it the death of my beloved brother. 

Thank you for being here, dear reader! I'm amazed that seven years later, La Maison Boheme is still going strong due to your readership and presence. Thank you and a very happy new year to you and yours. Here is my 2014 year in review in no particular order:

I learned to make bread and yogurt.

(Well, almost monthly. I've had a slow autumn.)

I wrote a letter to my 6-year-old self.

Did a professional acting gig with my husband 

at the Utah Shakespeare Festival for the summer.

Visited the Grand Canyon for my birthday.

Created an informational video about my artwork with my friend, Ceci Jane.

Moved my art studio from the converted garage to one of our bedrooms.

A friend built a chicken coop in my backyard from 100 percent recycled materials.

And the most impactful piece of my year was the sudden passing of my beloved brother.

It might seen odd to include it here, but it seems to inform everything else.
