Coop Construction Continues

After two dreary days of heavy rain, my friend - genius builder James Curvan - is back to building our coop. It was impossible to work on the hen house during the bad weather, but now that the sun is out, let the work resume!

Today, we hope to construct the front wall, add a roof and do some detail work on moving parts, locks and hinges. It's always interesting working with reclaimed wood. You have to make room for splits and cracks and ragged edges that need extra care and sanding. But the results are beautiful and completely unique! Here are some shots of where we're currently at.
