Ornate Wall Coverings

This week, I'm posting all about ornate patterns, graphic prints, and ethnic textiles.  Lately I've been on a big pattern kick and I can't wait to share some of the textiles I brought home from my recent trip to Mexico.  But first, feast your eyes on these gorgeous wall coverings.  As you can see, I'm a huge fan of the Arts and Crafts movement, chinoiserie and botanical prints.

  3. Egaad! the second wall covering (teal blue, birds etc.) catapulted me back to 1965 when Jack's dad and I were ready to move from Seminary to work. East Barre, MA, was a possibility with a huge house (church owned). Every down stairs room was papered in essentially that design, except dark blue with large peacocks. One wall or room would have been great - the whole down stairs felt like we were in an aviary in a zoo! Loved the print, sparingly. We didn't go there, happily, not so much for the wall paper as for the paper mill odor that hung over the town. Time machines work from visual stimulation.
