Terracotta, which means "baked earth", is one of the oldest most beautiful materials on the planet. It's also one of my favorite colors. Living in Texas, I have ample opportunity to enjoy this color because of the influence of Mexican art and architecture. I just love it. Its earthy, dynamic, sensual, neutral and looks good on the walls, on the floors, on the furniture and on you.

Stunning!
ReplyDeleteWhat I'd do for that hair! And then I'd lay down on that chaise and just know how great I am.
This is probably one of my most favorite colors too! Thank you for reminding me of that! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful post- love love that first bedroom shot and the one with the red headed girl on the train.
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful...nice decorations!
ReplyDeleteThat bedroom is banana's! I would never leave my room if that was mine.
ReplyDeleteI love the green in the first pic! i am thinking about making a green room in my house, where everything is green: walls, furniture, curtains, etc. what do you think?

The place with a bike by the door is so warm and inviting...inviting especially to relax after a hard day at work (like mine was today). Would love to have a place like that and look forward to a weekend spent far away from everything. Too much to ask?
ReplyDeleteRich. Earthy. Elemental. Thanks for showing it to us in so many beautiful forms.
ReplyDeleteDarcy, I think that an all green room would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I hear Terracotta, I think of our first sofa, modular, bought in the 70s .. suede.
ReplyDeleteI had a 3 year old and a 7 year old. Needless to say, the suede suffered over the years but we kept that thing for years and years, the color was what we loved.
I am now considering something like it again.
This time, no sticky fingered babies :)
This is one of my favorite colors too...and it's a very tricky one to pull off. We actually put it in our guestroom, and it was the most difficult of all colors to figure out...so many paint samples, but we finally found the right one and it's perfect. Not adobe, not grandma tan pantyhose...just perfectly terracotta (BM's Desert Rose - not the best name, but there you have it).
ReplyDeleteAll of these images are gorgeous versions of it, and I'm head over heels for that chaise...so pretty!

ReplyDelete(inside Texas joke, ladies).
