Sometimes, I just want to clear my design decks and simplify everything. This week, I've been really inspired by some of the white and wood cottage interiors I saw last week while visiting my Mama in Eastern Oregon. The beauty of the wood takes center stage when you pair it with a beautiful white background.
Yes! yes ! yes ! I love them all .. although having to boards on the floor might prove a bit of a tripping hazard lol Don't you love the styling in some photos ? This makes me want to repaint my home .. every room white.
It's an interesting one, because the world seems to be divided into people who love white + timber, and those who react very strongly in a negative way to it.
Me? I love the combination. Fresh, earthy and comforting, all at once.
I used to think of white as cold and sterile, even in small amounts, but lately I've turned the corner and now find it refreshing and relaxing. If I lived in a warmer climate, I'd probably paint more of my house white, but for now it's relegated to the trim and floor of my boudoir...great post.

I've been obsessed with "white and wood" since I was a teenager. When I discovered the Beatles' "Norwegian Wood," I was convinced that this song was about the decor as much as the love affair.
Just give that song a listen while looking at the photos you've posted...magic!
