Bògòlanfini, otherwise known as
mud cloth, is a handmade fabric from Mali traditionally dyed with fermented mud. Just like the
Kuba cloth I mentioned in yesterday's post, I am seeing versions of this fabric everywhere. I love it. Some of it is the real deal, but most of it is a mud cloth-like reproduction being manufactured for mass distribution. Either way, I think the black and white designs are my favorite:
The second picture is my kind of house! The kuba cloth upholstery is very striking.

Awesome ways to use this fabric! I may have to do my own version one of these days. I actually have some hanging in my office right now, so that's why this post caught my eye =)

ReplyDeleteI am surprised by how much I like the restrained color schemes given how much I like color. The mud cloth is quite wonderful.
