Ikat Cacophony

I'm sure you've seen this photo all over the internet.  Its from a house tour in the January issue of Elle Decor.  I love everything about this house, but the photo below really inspired me.  I love the bold rug, the brash Ikat curtain panels, the gray patterned wallpaper, the miss-matched Ikat throw pillows and the edgy art.  Its a fantastic mix.  I really want this kind of look in my living room.  The thing that most excites me about this look is I think I could pull it off without changing any of my furniture.  Its all walls, floors and curtains. Hmmm....

Here are some beautiful Ikat rug patterns to get me going:

Most of the rugs are from ABC Carpet in NYC.

  3. That room makes me weak in the knees -- I have to agree, it's the gold standard.
I'd say just for more and more ikat -- magnificent rugs too.

  11. So beautiful. I often find myself liking the more traditional style rugs, but this ikat style is very, very, pretty. I do think particularly large palace rugs are also quite graceful as they make the room feel bigger. So pretty, keep up the wonderful work
